The M6-KI doctoral scholarship of the Faculty of Medicine

In order to support doctoral students in human medicine during Module 6-KI, the faculty offers the opportunity to apply for a 12-month doctoral scholarship.

  • All doctoral candidates of the LMU Faculty of Medicine who have registered their doctoral project to obtain a Dr. med. or Dr. med. dent. in accordance with the doctoral regulations for human and dental medicine, human biology of 27.09.2018 and have been accepted into Module 6-AI are eligible to apply.
  • Doctoral candidates who are or have already been funded by programs of the LMU Faculty of Medicine (e.g. FöFoLe) are not eligible to apply.

  • maximal 333 € per month for a period of two semesters (=12 month) during module 6-AI

  • During the M6-KI doctoral scholarship, the doctoral candidate must be enrolled in Module 6-KI and focus fully on the respective research project and the courses of Module 6-KI. Please indicate the duration of Module 6-KI as the period of full-time research.
  • If access to the infrastructure at the LMU Hospital and appropriate insurance is required, the Human Resources Department will issue a work shadowing permit.
  • Contracts as student or research assistants can run in parallel if they do not exceed a maximum of 10 hours per week and there is a clear temporal and spatial distinction between the doctoral scholarship and the assistantship, i.e. the assistantship ideally takes place in a different department/institute/clinic than the doctoral scholarship. If you are unsure about this regulation, please contact your responsible contact person in the Human Resources Department before submitting your application.
  • The signed target agreement, a confirmation of matriculation at the LMU and confirmation of acceptance in Module 6-KI are prerequisites for processing.
  • The application to receive the fellowship must be submitted to the doctoral office no later than eight weeks after the start of Module 6-KI. (Please note: The date of the postmark applies. Applications received after this deadline cannot be considered. Extensions of this deadline are not possible.)
  • The signed target agreement is a prerequisite for processing
  • In order to be eligible to apply, a doctoral project for the acquisition of the Dr. med. or Dr. med. dent. must be successfully registered in accordance with the study regulations for human and dental medicine, human biology dated 27.09.2018. Applications submitted without successful registration of a doctoral project will not be considered and will not be stored. It is not possible to reapply.
    The data collection must take place at an institution of the Medical Faculty or the LMU hospital.
  • LMU matriculation confirmation.

  • The fellowship application (PDF, 6,299 KB) must be submitted in duplicate (2 signed originals) to the doctoral office.

Important Information for Submitting Your Application Please check your application carefully before submission. Only complete and correct applications can be considered. Make sure that all of the following requirements are fulfilled:

Have you completed and submitted the complete registration of your doctoral project on the Campus Portal?

Is the application submitted in two copies?

Do all details (name, address, bank account information, etc.) match on both copies?

Have you and your 1st TAC member signed both copies with original signatures?

Does your research period take place during Module 6-KI and do the details of the start and end of your research periods match your target agreement?

Will you refrain from working more than 10 hours per week during your Module 6-KI research?

Did you submit the application on time, no later than 8 weeks after the start of your Module 6-KI? (Please note: The date of the postmark applies. Applications received after this deadline cannot be considered. Extensions to this deadline are not possible.)

Is the target agreement fully signed and available?

Will the data collection only take place at a facility of the Medical Faculty or the University Hospital of LMU?

Do you also submit your registration certificate as proof of enrollment at LMU?

You are eligible to apply only if you can answer “Yes” to all of the above questions.
Applications that do not meet all requirements will be rejected.

A rejected application cannot be resubmitted!
